By David Oguche.

The Nigeria President-elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has just been sworn in today, May 29, 2023, at the nation’s capital, Abuja as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, GCFR. He was sworn in alongside his Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shetima at Eagle Square.

The auspicious and epoch-making event saw world leaders and dignitaries including President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, Mohamed Bazoum of Niger Republic, the US delegation, UK delegation, France, delegation, among others at the Eagle Square amid watertight security.

Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared the winner of the February 25, 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He defeated 17 other candidates, among them, his closest rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party to clinch Nigeria’s most coveted seat.

Although, there have been allegations that the All Progressives Congress would rig the 2023 Nigerian presidential election to favour their leader, Bola Tinubu, and it was unlikely that he would ascend to the highest office of the land against all odds but Tinubu who made significant progress in galvanizing Nigerians support has finally become president against all odds in 2023.
