22 Thugs in Kano’s Police Net

Kano State  police have arrested 22 suspects during raiding (clearance operation)  of criminal hideouts in some areas within Kano Metropolis.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command PPRO, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa,  in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, psc(+), NPM, fdc on community-based policing, and in the command’s efforts to rid Kano State of all forms of crime and criminality, especially the menace of thuggery, drug abuse and other social vices, with reports obtained on the activities of remnants of thugs in some areas within Kano Metropolis, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama Dikko, fsi raised and instructed teams of Policemen led by SP Bashir Musa Gwadabe, Officer in Charge, Anti Daba Unit to liaise with members of the community in those areas and carry out the raiding.

The PPRO added that 22 Suspects were arrested ,  a  tricycle and 4 motorcycles suspected to be stolen, dangerous weapons, 32 Parcels of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, and large quantity of illicit drugs were recovered, and the suspects  have all confessed to the commission of the offences. 

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dikko, directed that, raids of such criminal hideouts should continue through out the State, until all criminally minded people either repent or are arrested and brought before the law. Suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
