Police in Kebbi State has neutralized a dangerous bandit’s group that invaded Tiggi village in Augie Local Government Area of the State.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Abubakar, the operation was executed based on credible intelligence that a group of bandits in their large numbers have invaded Tiggi village in Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State. Adding that based on intelligence report, the police tactical teams were deployed in the area in collaboration with the Army, and local vigilantes were immediately mobilized to the scene and engaged the bandits in a gun duel and as a result, one of the bandits was neutralized while others escaped with fatal gun wounds, while one AK 47 rifle was recovered as an exhibit.
The Commissioner of Police Kebbi State, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora said: “I commend the courage and gallantry of the police tactical teams, Army, and local vigilantes in their onslaught against criminal elements.” The CP further reiterated the Command’s readiness and determination in not only securing the border communities against banditry activities but Kebbi State in general.
The police boss equally appealed to the good people of Kebbi State to continue to support and cooperate with the police and other Security agencies with a view to reducing crimes to the barest minimum in the state.
